Amee Top 10

I am bad at posting to xanga.  Being an introvert makes blogging a challenge.  I should write a blog about that or an essay.  I am going to steal June's idea and just write about 10 things happening now or 10 things that come to my mind in these next minutes.

1) Condo still not on the market.  Still waiting for help to fix drywall piece and countertop.  Husband does not equal help.  His strengths do not include construction or home repair.

2) I just got back from Chicago.  I had a work trip.  It was good to spend time with the Bonesteels.  We finally went to The Second City.  A promise made by Rob 10 years ago!  I bought a new game: Let's Kill.  Super fun, thanks Roger for introducing it to me a long time ago...it is finally back in print.

3) Still searching for a job that challenges me and values me.  There are many things about my current job that I love.  But the things that I don't love are tough to deal with.

4) Chris is still searching for a job.  He is currently my  unemployed husband.  He is also in a Master's program, so its not like he just lays around all day eating bon-bons.

5) I am obsessed with COD4 online.  I LOVE it.  If anyone out there in xangaland plays on the PS3 network, give me your name and we can play together.  I love to snipe.

6) My BFF Stephanie's baby shower is on Saturday.  It will be boy #4 for her.  It will be fun and it will make me want a baby even more!

7) I am SO glad tv is back!  The Office was so funny!

8) I love Jason Castro and Brooke on AI.

9) I am running out of things to share.

10) I still love Weird Al.

Thanks for reading. I hope you enjoyed the top 10.

Road Trip 2008

Greeting XangaLand...

I am not good at blogging, I guess.  Sorry.

Just got back on Monday from a road trip.  Chris and I and our friend Dave went on a random road-trip with no real destination in mind.  (I've always wanted to do that) We went 3000 miles in 5 days!  We were going to go to New Orleans, but the weather was awful going that route.  So we went to Roswell, New Mexico, then Albuquerque, then Denver, then Mt Rushmore and Crazy Horse, then home.

Why Roswell?  Because aliens have landed there, of course.  Turns out, Roswell was the most fun part of our trip.  I highly recommend the UFO museum on main street Rosewell.  And their light posts have alien eyes on them.  AWESOME.

Why Albuquerque?  Because Weird Al sings a song about it, of course.  It was pretty scenery throughout New Mexico.  I was hoping to find a hot-air balloon snow globe (I've wanted to go on a hot-air balloon ride since I was like 4) but no hot-air balloon snow globes in Albuquerque.  And no hot-air balloon ride.  Hopefully someday.

Denver: La Casa Bonita.  Underground HUGE Mexican restaurant...as seen on South Park.  It was fun.  Not as good of food as one would hope, but fun.  And the grave of Bufallo Bill Cody.  The mountains are pretty.  (Saw a hot-air balloon in the sky as we left Denver)

Crazy Horse:  awesome.  I wish they had the money to finish him.  And I wish we had more time to spend there.

Mt Rushmore: Also, I wish we had more time to spend. But I'm glad I finally saw it.  I've always wanted to.  But, the entire time I was there, I could not get that song from Team America: World Police out of my head.

Very fun trip.  I'm still exhausted from it!

Need Job

I need a new job. (my current job is sending me messages of not needing me, so I must leave) Anyone have any leads?  I have a lot of higher education and project management experience.

Light done.

Apparently, putting in a new light fixture is SUPER easy.  It took like 15 minutes.  I was amazed.  (usually, when we've done stuff to this condo...it has not been easy because of what we discover...like crooked cement floors)  So since the light was so easy, I painted the bathroom as well.  Now we just have to repair the tub and tile from when we removed one of those nasty sliding-door showers, and the bathroom will be complete.

We are now focusing on a new countertop.  We might just pay someone to install it.  It would be so much easier.  But it is exciting that we are getting closer to putting the place on the market.  I hope it sells within 9 months.  That is my goal (especially if I get pregnant...then we'll only have 9 months...)

Yay for home improvements!

Well, we found a realtor.  He will not charge us a commission on selling our condo if we use him to buy a house!  It is prefect for us!  (I am worried about not breaking even on the condo)  So, I want to do some work.  Me and the Dad put in new entry-way closet doors this weekend.

Saturday my friend Dave and I will be putting in a new light fixture in the bathroom.  I hope it goes well.  (I hope I don't have to call anyone who is an electrician...especially since I haven't seen you guys in years!)

Next on my list is new countertop and new bathroom flooring.

You might notice that the statment Chris and I was never made.  We cannot do any kind of construction or improvement work together.  We can't even put a kitchen stand together as a team.  Or we will divorce.  We have accepted this, and embrace it as a way to make our marraige last and work!

Wish us luck on the light. (I hope my friend doesn't wimp out since it will be so cold on Saturday...)
